Bangladesh beat visiting West Indies by 6 wickets in the first One-Day International, taking 1-0 lead in the three-match series. Bangladesh bowled out West Indies for only 122 runs at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka on Wednesday.
Shakib Al Hasan, who made his return to international cricket after serving out a year ban, picked four wickets. Debutant Hasan Mahmud grabbed 3-28 while Mustafizur Rahman picked up 2-20 as West Indies were folded in 32.2 overs in rain-hit match.
In chase, Bangladesh reached the target in just 33.5 overs. Tigers scored 125 runs by losing 4 wickets. Skipper Tamim Iqbal scored innings best 44 runs off 69 balls 7 fours while all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan hit 19 runs from 43 balls with a four.
Liton Das smashed an innings of 14 runs off 38 balls with 2 fours. But Najmul Hossain Shanto returned to the pavilion just for one run. Mushfiqur Rahim (unbeaten) hit 19 runs from 32 balls while Mahmudullah (unbeaten) 9 runs off 16 balls.
