Sundarbans fire under control

A fire that broke out in Chandpai Range of the Sundarbans in Bagerhat last evening was brought under control this morning.

Fire fighters managed to bring the fire under control on Monday morning.

Chandpai range officer Gazi Motiar Rahman said the fire originated in Nagli area on Sunday evening.

The origin of the fire could not be ascertained yet while some shrubs and bushes have been burnt, said station officer of Chandpai range Sultan Mahmud.
